A simple routine for oily and combination skin in Kenya

Shiny skin does not need to feel stripped to be clean. If you keep buying stronger cleansers but your cheeks still feel uncomfortable, pause before adding another active product. A routine should fit both the oily and drier areas of your face.

Oily everywhere, or only in the T-zone?

Notice where shine appears over several days. Forehead and nose shine with drier cheeks suggests a combination pattern. Shine across most areas suggests an oily pattern. These observations help you choose textures; they do not explain the cause of breakouts. Use our skin-type guide and finder if you are uncertain.

Keep the morning routine straightforward

  1. Cleanse gently. Avoid harsh scrubbing. The right cleanser leaves your face comfortable rather than squeaky or tight.
  2. Moisturise where needed. Look for a lightweight texture and oil-free or non-comedogenic labelling when appropriate. You can use a little more on dry cheeks.
  3. Use sunscreen. Pick a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher that you can wear consistently, following the label.

In Zuvelle’s range, compare Aloe Vera Deep Cleansing Facial Cleanser and Aloe Vera 3-in-1 Moisture Cream. These are shopping candidates, not a claim that every formula suits every oily face. Check the full label for fragrance, allergens and texture preferences.

At night, decide whether you need an active

Remove the day's sunscreen and cleanse comfortably, then moisturise. If that base works and congestion remains your main concern, consider a salicylic-acid product such as Estelin Tea Tree Oil & Salicylic Acid Serum. Use it only as its label directs and introduce it cautiously. Tea tree oil can also irritate some people; “natural” does not mean reaction-free.

If your goal is the appearance of shine or uneven tone instead, Estelin Rosehip Niacinamide Serum is another ingredient option to compare. Avoid starting niacinamide, salicylic acid and retinol all at once. See the serum comparison to choose a single priority.

Mistakes that make the routine harder to judge

An example of a careful adjustment

Suppose your nose is oily, your cheeks feel dry and you already use an exfoliating toner. First check whether that toner is contributing to discomfort. Do not add a second exfoliant just because the word “pores” appears on its bottle. Keep the base simple and seek advice if irritation continues.

For darker marks after breakouts, read the existing dark-spots guide alongside the sunscreen checklist. Cosmetic products cannot guarantee acne clearance or scar removal. Painful lumps, scarring, widespread breakouts or an ongoing rash deserve a dermatologist's assessment.
